I don't think Dr T has lied to us. He's perhaps given us info too soon, without realising just what a mine field the English transfer system is. Agents will be a new phenomena to our Tone, as will the weasel words and greed of all concerned.

The guy is trying to keep us informed, so naturally things will change between intention and completion. Would we rather he shut up about the day to day hopes and happenings, or can we accept that there's many a slip between trying to do a deal and ITSOTP.

Dr Tony has done what he said he'd do when he bought Villa. He's put his money where he's mouth is and bought nine players into the club. He's also managed to move out fifteen players, some of whom were dragging us down.

Now we have to wait and see whether he's done enough to get us towards the top of the league. It's over to our manager and coaches to take over and do the business from here.

I think you can't fault the owner for the level of backing he has given the owner. Where things will stand or fall will be with the manager's choice of players and how they are deployed.

I'm still concerned by how Xia seems to be a bit of a loose cannon, though.

I expect that Dr T will be less vocal now that the first key stage of his ownership has been dealt with. I don't ever see him taking a back seat though. If results are disappointing by the time we reach November/December, I'm sure we'll hear plenty from him.

It's been a month since the last post on this thread as the Doctor has been less outspoken and reigned in his tweeting.

I think the Doctor has got almost everything right so far but he has made one big mistake - Roberto Di Matteo. He can't dither, he now has his first big test as owner. Get it wrong and he could lose a lot of good will.

The sooner you acknowledge and put right a serious mistake, the easier it is to limit collateral damage. Continuing to employ this manager will further damage the confidence and potential of our players. Act now Tony.

Indeed, every game Di Matteo remains in charge for is a guarantee of at least two points dropped. I just hope the Doctor doesn't have some kind of belief that he can turn it around. His recent tweets have suggested that to be in his thinking but I can see no evidence that RDM is capable of it.
