Another pick and mix lineup, from one week to the next there is very little consistency with Bruce's selections. The proof will be in the pudding and if we win I will eat humble pie. Packing the midfield is a safety first approach and over the course of a season, it will lead to far too many draws for us to even challenge for promotion.

I like Keinan Davis but am a bit concerned we're putting all our eggs in one fatigued 18yr old basket.

Adama sent off 4 minutes in for a bad foul on Conor Hourihane.

Hogan and Adomah replace Jedinak and The Icelandic Brett Holman at half time.

Who is managing us now and what have they done with the "real" Steve Bruce?

I spent the evening in the hot tub and listened to the match on the radio. It's hopeless isn't it.

From accounts JT was our best player, which puts another slant on our supposed statistical dominance. Out out out.

No tactical change after four minutes when they're most dangerous player was sent off, we still played with a five man defence. Why didn't he take Jedinak off as early as it was, and put on a second striker?

Even though we have only won 1 game in 7 and we have just played two home games and not managed to score a single goal, were there a few green shoots last night? When Middlesborough went down to 10 men, it was Villa who was applying the pressure and with hogan and Kodja upfront and snodgrass Hourihane and Adomah on the pitch all pushing forward, we started to sound like we were a decent attacking team. The key is now Bruce needs to get all these players on the pitch at the same time, he need to be braver with his team selections  to enable the attacking players to become confident as a group. if we leave a couple of these players on the bench and continue to play one up front I think the pressure will be too much for the attacking players who do start, but if we can attack with 5-6 players who are all capable of scoring goals and they play regularly together than the goals willl come the confidence will grow and we will start to string wins together. Let's hope Bruce can be bravier with his selections.
