Re: Villa match day thread.
Will that be down to a couple of days of intense tactical training?
No .... It will be "because we can't get any worse"!!!!!!
Pearls of wisdom.

Re: Villa match day thread.
He's bossed the midfield every time we've played Brentford, and his lack of pace is compensated for by his intelligent reading of the game. He continually brought their pacy wingers into the game with accurate and speedy passing, and then made himself available for recycled ball. Brentford looked "classy" at times and Woods is a major reason.
Typically AVFC let him go as a youngster.

The only thing that will save us is Bruce's cursed luck. It seems to pull his arse out of the fire at critical times.
It's yet another family party today! This time it's a fifth birthday party for my lovely eldest grandson.
I won't really get to follow the match, which is probably for the best!

Re: Villa match day thread.
How long will he continue to fool Dr. T? The only changes that ever come off for him are when he's forced to make that change through injury or illness.
Goals are scored in totally unplanned ways (on the rare occasions that we score them)!
We may have gained three points yesterday, we may be just outside the play off zone, but it's because individually we sometimes hit the back of the net. It's not coaching, it's not tactics, it's not part of a plan .... It's just a bunch of fairly talented individuals making sporadic individual contributions.
There are several Championship managers who would have our squad of players lodged comfortably in the second automatic promotion spot. There are another bunch of managers who would at least organise us and give us a system.
So why are we stuck with Bruce who does none of the above? It has to be that Wyness and Bruce are clinging onto each other in the realisation that if the illusion of experienced gravitas is shattered then they are both in the sh*t!

Re: Villa match day thread.
They've got a more positive manager than us, and they'll want it more, unless Bruce is forced by illness and injury to start young confident players like O'hare and co. If we play with that young appetite we can sneak something today.
Pulis said after we beat his team, "Villa were hard to break down as they played with two lines of 4 and 5 at all times". That's ten men behind the ball at all times including the keeper! Poor old Hogan got criticised for his performance and "bizarre runs at times" but he was totally isolated. No wonder it took a rare headed Snodgrass goal to break the deadlock.
This has got to stop because you can't defend your way out of the Championship. Are you listening Bruce?

Bruce, as you've had 850 games in management and know what you're doing; SORT IT FUCKING OUT.
