So can this be the start of a turnaround or just yet another defeat?

Will I find it even more depressing in person than I do at home? Place bets now!

We have to win sometime don't we?

We do don't we?

If so, when?

Who's going to score for us?

Will we fail to gift them a goal or two this time?

I've just realised something .... Steve Bruce has to get a win somewhere in the next three matches.

I know it should have been obvious to me, but in my defence I will just say that supporting Villa is akin to taking a strong tranquilliser .... it shuts down your powers of thought and reasoning!

If we don't win against any of Derby, Bristol City or Rotherham then Bruce's position will be indefensible .... he will be sacked! Bl*ody hell, how did we get into this position with these players?

Bruce is a decent guy, the players are all decent players, this simply shouldn't be happening. Training has to be totally changed to energise the whole group. If we continue to do the same things that we've been doing on a daily basis then we will continue to fail.

To be honest, we really need to see something across these three games. It has to be six or seven points out of them, doesn't it?

Losing all three or even two doesn't bear thinking about. The board are giving the impression of patience but if the run of losses continues that will run out very quickly. As easy as it seems, the pit of negativity the team seems to dig for whatever reason (tactics, poorly confidence, bad luck... whatever you put it down to) means winning is going to be difficult. We need some luck or at least a good defensive performance. So luck it is...

I think one win will see SB just about clinging on. Whether he should or not if that happens is another matter.

It's less than an hour before our warriors come out to battle.

That's what our supporters want to see .... Will Bruce and the players make it happen?

Is Hourihane injured? He must be as he's not on the bench!

Hutton preferred to Bree (that may be down to Bree's fitness).

We've scored from a set piece. Corner knocked in and Chester scores. Why am I not more excited? Could it be that I'm waiting for us to go wobbly as we usually do?

1-0 Villa!

We're sitting deeper as usual and Derby could have scored. Johnstone flapping. Bent should have had a penalty!

Get up the pitch and in their faces, for goodness sake Villa!

Villa still lead but it sounds like Derby are bossing the match at the moment. Kodjia get's forward but doesn't release the ball .... again!

Villa lead at half time 1-0. Will Bruce give a different type of half time talk and tell the players to go out and get at Derby, or will he drag us deeper to try and defend our way to three points?

Derby don't look to threatening but they've had 67% of the possession, which could spell danger for us.
