He needs to start playing in a far more gung ho manner. Garde may insist on him dropping deep to fill a midfield space when we lose possession, but that's not what he should be doing imo. He has to attack the box at every opportunity even if the ball isn't aimed at him. He should thrive on deflections, ricochets, miss kicks and mistakes. If he does that then he'll panic defences.

On balance, no.

I prefer Guzan to Bunn, but the reality is that both of them are going to make a couple of potentially costly errors a game. When you're confidence is low then it breeds mistakes.

Lawrenson says that Stoke are hard to predict unless they're playing Villa. We have become everyone's whipping boys. I suppose we deserve it, but it's not pleasant.

This. Guzan's confidence is presently subterranean. I just hope that Bunn hasn't gone the same way after shipping six against Liverpool.

Reading Garde's comments here, I think any improvement is going to have to come from the players themselves. Do they have sufficient professional pride for that?

It's unbelievable that Garde is still speaking about a number of players who are unmotivated. If they can't be bothered to play for Villa they don't need an arm round their lazy shoulders, they need their arses kicking.

They must be so rich that the prospect of a wage cut when we're relegated is only a minor inconvenience.

Twelve matches left and some of our players can't be bothered .... it makes my blood boil!

I think this is the residue of not getting any new faces in back in Jan. New players would have replaced at least some of the players Garde has no option but to pick and maybe given a few others a rocket as they suddenly have competition for places.
