What will happen against Leicester?
Aston Villa V Leicester City: Saturday 16th January at 5:30PM
So, no preview and I'm saying Leicester will win 2-1.

Re: Aston Villa V Leicester City: Saturday 16th January at 5:30PM
I remember somewhat embarrassingly the debate that took place during last summer's transfer window about Villa being a much bigger club than Leicester. Even the Leicester fans who joined in, acknowledged that historically Villa were a "big" club.
The debate focussed around Jordan Veretout .... why would he join Villa and not high flying LCFC who were also trying to sign him? Some of our fans found the idea laughable, but six months later we've had to face up to the fact that Leicester are motoring in the fast lane, while Villa are broken down on the hard shoulder.
We should have beaten them at the King Power Stadium, but we threw it away, and I would argue that we haven't been the same team since. Tuesday night was a breath of fresh air, and gives me some hope that we can start to add points to our woefully low total. We need guts and passion, added to clear heads, and we also need Leicester to have an off game like Palace did.
It could happen.

Wonder what Veretout himself makes of it?

From Veretout's comments recently I think he's settling nicely at Villa. He's young and he's got a young family so I think he will fit patiently into the Villa 'family'. He's a cracking player and could be key along with the likes of Ayew, Amavi, Traore and Gil to allowing Remi Garde to play his kind of football at Villa.Sandie wrote:I don't think anyone could have predicted the respective positions of the clubs now back then.

Veretout was the player that I was most excited about signing in the summer, and his progress has added to that excitement.

Keeping players like him and adding a few smart additions will be important to getting this club out of the championship and then keeping it back in the Premier League.

I agree. The french contingent are all potentially good players. It was the odd and fractured mix of these buys, and Sherwood's muscular in your face players that didn't gel.Sandie wrote:He's certainly done well and that has begged the question of why didn't Sherwood pick him in the early part of the season. I like him, in fact I like most of the supposed moneyball players.

Definitely not!Sandie wrote:I assume everyone wants us to have an unchanged team for this? Any changes worth considering? Richards in at right back instead of Bacuna, maybe?
I thought that Bacuna's discipline next to Okore helped shut out Palace. Richards will spend Huttonesque amounts of time up in Leicester's half, and they will get in behind him and score.
