Cardiff v Villa Empty Cardiff v Villa

Post by villabromsgrove Sat Aug 12, 2017 2:01 pm

I'm getting less and less excited about Villa match days, especially away ones. We should beat Cardiff because we've got better players. If Bruce and Calderwood stayed home today I honestly think we would win .... There, I've said it! Call me Mr Negative!

I think we'll lose or draw this one. If you pin me down I'll go for a narrow 2-1 loss.

Onomah will probably be targeted for a bit of a kicking by Warnock's team.

Poor defending by someone beginning with H .... 1-0 Cardiff.

Elmo hit in the face accidentally, subbed for Adomah.

Lansbury has not done it since joining. A big disappointment.

I don't know where to start, so I won't start. There is nothing much I can say after my worst fears were realised in a cascade of total non football from Villa. There are a number of four letter words that I could use to describe how I'm feeling right now, but what's the point?

Total apathy, I was going to describe it as gut wrenching but I no longer feel that way as Iv'e become so accustomed to abject failure, that when performances such as today happen, I just feel numb to it all.

I didn't expect us to be quite as bad as we were.

Bruce has admitted that after six months he's still struggling to get the balance right especially away from home. He's also said it's the biggest task he's had in the Championship. Also seen him be critical of the players but 8 of them were signed by him. Arguably two of the others have been given his faith in front of better alternatives too.

He counts about as well as he manages! He joined Villa ten months ago to the day!

I don't think I've ever heard a manager say "maybe we're not quite ready to play with two strikers". scratch

It's very worrying when the manager admits that he doesn't think he has the answers to the problems we have on the pitch. At least we don't have another away game imminently...
