China should spend some of it's surplus cash on building these kids a school in their village, so that they don't have to make this horrendous 800ft climb just to be educated.

Imagine these were your children risking their lives for what should be a basic provision. It puts into perspective the media furore about whether our takeover guy has this much money .... that much money, and can we have much, much more please?

Message to the Chinese government .... Build these kids a school that they can safely attend and then worry about China dominating football in years to come.

People complain about the gap between rich and poor here but I imagine that it is far, far greater in China.

I think it likely that Xia and Wyness have bid for clubs in the last couple of years. I want to believe that TX is totally committed to AVFC, but the more I read of other deals including Chinese league franchises makes me wonder whether Villa is part of a bigger picture that may be more about money than the soul and future of our club.

I think the franchise angle suggests a kind of long term commitment but you would expect loftier goals from franchises to tourist attractions to be on the agenda once promotion has been achieved.

I think you're right Sandie. We don't need to hear about all the peripherals until we get promoted. Until then it only gets in the way.

I think a speedy promotion will be very difficult. Look at how many new players we need and think that we're going to have to bed them in, get them up to speed and used to playing together. Then consider the intensity of competition to win promotion. Whichever manager (probably Di Matteo) needs to hit the ground running. With promotion being so central to our goals I'd not be surprised if Xia ends up being very hard on managers.

There are some good managers in the Championship. There will be no honeymoon period for our new manager, he has to somehow put out a team bursting with confidence on the first day of the season in approx ten weeks time.

It will be frustrating and unprofessional if the football league allow an end of season junket in Portugal to delay an important decision. I can't see this being true. Surely the people who do the checks aren't the senior guys anyway.

When the deal gets confirmed (early next week the press will have us believe) there will obviously be a stepping up of news. No doubt Dr. X will have things to say publicly, office bearers appointed and RDM can step up his work and start doing things.
