I think privately Bruce will be worried. These players do not believe they can win a game.

We thought that under RDM months ago, Bruce gave them a boost but it's no question that these players are in many cases mentally weak. Our ongoing lack of goals isn't helping at this time either.

I wouldn't believe we can win if the mananger kept picking that prick Agbonlahor up front.

Bruce doesn't seem to be afraid to admit when he's got it wrong, so let's hope he takes Gabby out of the firing line (non-firing?) asap.

The problem is we've got ourselves into the situation that Gabby HAS to get chances due to the AFCoN and selling Rudy. Other than the kids (one of whom is frozen out) it's him or McCormack and neither of them are doing it.

Gabby is not good enough to play as our only striker. McCormack seems to be out of favour and RHM has no chance of figuring. With Gestede gone, Kodjia unavailable and Ayew both out of favour and unavailable, we're left without a goal scoring striker.

I can't help wondering how much of this current dilemma is down to our midfield and our negative tactics. We simply do not give a striker a chance to score a goal because we isolate him, so he has to try and create the occasional individual goal. We have a massive job to do to turn this lack of service around, and I can't see it all happening in this transfer window.

We could have a midfield of Messi, Ozil and Kante and Gabby wouldn't score. It might be an issue for McCormack though.

I wouldn't have sold Rudy.

Selling Gestede at a time when presumably we're trying to find players to get the ball into the box, is baffling.

It's a bit like bringing Gestede on as a substitute and at the same time taking Adomah off the pitch .... Nobody would do that would they? Tottenham V Aston Villa Sunday 8th December 16:00 - Page 3 3640643743
