Tonight's the night!

We kick off a new era against an old foe .... Hull City. New owners .... fresh hope .... but will it be the same old negative tactics?

I'll watch with interest. Up the Villa!

We started with three points. We didn't play particularly well, but we didn't have to against a team with a makeshift defence.

Wigan should present a sterner test. Newly promoted, full of energy and well organised by an attack minded manager.

We should win again, and I guess that's the way I'll judge Bruce this season. It's got to be three points even if we don't play well.
