What a goal there!

I wish we had players who could do that.

Sunderland winning at Palace. Last thing we need.

Defoe has just scored for Sunderland after an horrendous mix up by Crystal Palace. Three points to Sunderland. Bloody hell!

I've never really rated Defoe but it certainly shows the importance of a goalscorer when your backs are against the wall. If only we had one of those.

He was basically chasing a lost cause and a mix up let him in. Do we have someone who does that and repeatedly gets into scoring positions just in case? Hmmm .... maybe Kozak?

Kozak is probably the nearest we have to that, yet he's getting linked to Blues by the papers...

Just watched the first half of Stoke V Man City.

It was not that long ago Stoke were down at the bottom with us but they've been superb today. Winning 2-0 and hit the post a couple of times, much the better team. I said when they were bottom they were in a false position and so it seems to prove. They made some good signings in the Summer and those have come good much quicker than ours.

Hughes seems to understand how to use his technical new boys, backed up by some organised physical defending.

I've always thought that Ryan Shawcross is an excellent defender, perhaps even one of the best English centre halves. His only crime is to be a bit over-physical at some times which isn't necessarily a draw back depending on your view.

Shawcross is a classic Premier Centre Back.

Bournemouth play some good football. If they didn't have four or five key long term injuries they'd be well up the table.

Bournemouth have just scored .... Gulp! Less than 10 minutes for Chelsea to help us out!

Nearly got a second just after. Finished 1-0.

It's a bit of a sickener having to hope a team like Bournemouth lose to a team like Chelsea. If I was a neutral I'd be delighted for them.

It seems that all these other teams get all these unlikely results whilst we keep failing to win.

Bournemouth take three points! Fair play to them, they went there on a free hit and took it to Chelsea from the first whistle. It shows up our decision to go to Southampton and try to sneak a point, as a scared team and an apprehensive manager refusing to go out and take our destiny in two strong hands.

Eddie Howe is superb at what he does, and his players are a credit to him. Eight points needed to get out of the bottom three, and that's only if other teams stop getting points.

We need to train and set up to win matches. If Garde thought we could defend our way out of this he knows different now! OR DOES HE!
