That is concerning but people are deluding themselves if they think we are going to keep all the players we, as fans, want to hang on to if we get relegated. The ones who haven't let us down, like Okore, will obviously end up being on the shopping lists of other clubs in the summer and from there it is down to their own decisions as I can't see our board standing in the way of transfers that will get them money in.

It's not just Okore but players like Veretout, Gana and Ayew. I'm not saying we will lose all of them but if we keep all of our four or five best players I will be shocked.

As a further point, if anyone wants to criticise Okore for saying that they need to bear in mind a few things. First of all, playing for us in the Championship is hardly going to be an appealling prospect for our better players and, frankly, after the last three seasons I couldn't blame any one for having had their fill of playing for us. Secondly, at least he's being up front about things rather than going through Delph-like serpentine behaviour. I also think Okore has shown us a bit of loyalty in the past, for example he exacerbated his knee injury last season to keep on playing in the relegation battle. Finally, it is the Birmingham Mail reporting this so there's possibly an element of sensationalism at play.

Good post. If we fans can be pissed off with Villa, then players who are working for a living (not for the club) have a definite right to be pissed off with the lack of direction at AVFC. Their futures and reputations are being ruined by our pathetic bunch of administrators, and they have no reason to feel beholden to us.

Strangely, despite all the mal-administration of our club, if we win today we will be within two wins of moving out of the bottom three. Depending on other team's results of course.

I've said all along guys, the fat lady isn't singing YET. Not so long ago it was 12 points to safety and a inferior GD. Now IF we win today it's 5 points and a moderately better GD then some around us. As you say VB two games to safety (with other teams like Bournemouth and Swansea running out of steam and our current form over last 5 games is top 4)

I'm sat watching Leicester beating Arsenal away 0-1 and looking more and more likely like winning the league (this will take them 8 points clear of Arsenal, yet still the commentators and pundits don't write them off) by contrast we're dead and buried with the same 8 point gap. Whilst the dream is on for Leicester, it's fully on for me (us) and Villa. I refuse to give up!!!

Yes of course we do need to win today, but should we and other teams really should start to get nervous as we're one of the top form teams.

Beware the roar of the lion!! 2-1 Villa...
