Alongside Paul McGraph you would have a duo of God's.
Not just a duo of Gods - but a duo of Gods with flawed knees!

I remember nearly chinning a fan who sat just behind me for shouting abuse at Wrighty!
He was a solid full-back but never a wing-back, and it wasn't his fault he was played there. I would defend him quite ferociously - he never let us down.
Scored some great goals, but his best moment for me was beating Niall Quinn for a header. One of the best things I've ever seen at VP

Salifou as well.
He was my son's favourite player even though he never saw him play, he just loved the song and when I explained the story to him of the bus incident, he took on God like status in his eyes.
The Togolese Zidane!

One of my mates from school lived next to Gagey in Wylde Green and at the back of his house was a football pitch, one day we were playing 'Wembley' and Gage, Birchy, Olney and (I forget who the fourth one was) came out the back and we had a game of headers and volleys with them. Good old days. Wouldn't happen now would it?
Birchy should feature somewhere in an XI Loved him!! A great servant to us and a bloody nice bloke, was gutted when he passed

Re: Greatest Aston Villa XI?
Best I've seen 4-4-2
Bosnich
Barrett
McGrath
Southgate
Staunton
Milner
Platt
Barry
Merson
Yorke
Benteke - so tough leaving Deano out but can't ignore the big man
My stab at best ever 4-3-3
Bosnich
Gidman
McGrath
Evans
Staunton
Cowans
Mortimer
Platt
Yorke
Little
Gray (totally biased, totally justified)

Oooof that's a pretty strong All Time XI Jamie. Would love that side now. Has a bit of everything. We've had it so good in the past. Let's hope we can somehow scale those heights again
