Replaced already: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38322274

Looks like he was lined up before Rowett was given the boot. Has he been successful anywhere? When it comes to being a joke Birmingham City never disappoint, do they?

It's good of them to make our job slightly easier, although after last night's debacle it probably won't be enough.

No matter how bad we get. Despite our historically bad performances last season, we all know that if we look in the direction of Small Heath we will all have reason to laugh eventually. They just can't help it. A DNA of self-destruction.

Someone at work reckoned Rowett liked to gamble and that that was the issue. Dunno if I believe that though.

There's certainly something that doesn't add up about it. If it was a per-meditated sacking as it seems then why parachute a new boss in to start with difficult games? Net result is that Zola has come in and last his first two which obviously has an impact upon the mood of fans and how receptive players are to new coaches with new ideas.

Who would appoint an Italian manager purely based on his Chelsea connection? There's a circus in town... 3640643743

It must be a Birmingham thing!

RDM had a far greater pedigree than Zola did too. Zola seems like a lovely chap, though.

Rowett now being linked (along with Paul Clement) to being Swansea manager.

Rowett is a good manager and organiser, Clement is a good coach. Rowett could have done a good job for Villa (imo) if he hadn't been the incumbent Blues manager.

I agree and I think Rowett would be a fantastic fit for a Swansea side who are probably going to end up re-building in the Championship.

I have some good mates who are Blues fans, and I feel genuinely sorry for them. With Gary Rowett as manager they could well have got to the play off's this season.

How's life without Rowett working for them?

I think Zola's making RDM look less of a fraud by the day.
