So after three wins on the bounce (following five defeats) we have another game giving us a chance to expand our winning run. We face Huddersfield who present a different prospect to the three teams we have recently beat. All of those sides were out of form, a defeat to table-topping Newcastle aside, Huddersfield are in excellent form. They're also third in the league so a much sterner challenge than the last three games. Can the new, slightly more resiliant Villa get a win or is it a bridge too far?

I see us losing 2-1 or 1-0. It's not down to my usual negativity, I honestly think that Huddersfield are a better organised team than us, and they play at a high intensity which will give us the excuse (if we needed one) to sit deep and try to hit them on the break. We might get lucky of course, but the odds are against us.

I would be surprised if we have more than 35% possession and that will allow Huddersfield too many opportunities to score. I hope I'm wrong, because four wins in a row would be awesome!

Jedinak says that the whole dressing room is buzzing, and it also seems that Hogan could be available again by the weekend .... Can we build on this?

According to the BBC, Huddersfield had 76% possession against Newcastle at the weekend, that's the team top of the division. I think our defence will be key to what we achieve in this one, since Jedinak came back in and we ended the Elphick experiment they've been more solid.

My knees are knocking because we're playing Huddersfield. That's a snapshot of our fall from grace!

They must be heavy favourites, but seeing as our team should pick itself at the moment with our injury list, we have to go up to Huddersfield with a battler's mentality.
Amavi on the left should be a handful in front of Taylor with Adomah supplying width on the right in front of Hutton, so why am I worried that Bruce will push Kodjia wide left and put Keenan Davis up front?

Davis was rested for last night's youth game so it wouldn't be a surprise.

Managers seem to feel the need to tinker, when the best option might be to allow your eleven best players to settle and trust them to go out and get a result. I know we've had a freakish run of injuries, but luckily we still have a best eleven that clearly picks itself .... don't tinker SB!

This should be an attacking team, it probably won't be though.

Special mention for O'Hare and Blackett Taylor on making the team sheet.

We've played well and had two or three good chances with the latest being Lansbury hitting the bar. Not made it tell yet, however.

This is clearly our best eleven with perhaps Hogan to join in again soon.

We've played with a fair bit of steel and some sign of organisation according to the commentators. One worry may be that we could have scored twice but didn't take our chances. Will that come back to haunt us?

I'm listening to this while laying on my bed resting the old back, so I'm away from my Imac. I'll post again later if I don't nod off to sleep! Sleep Huddersfield V Aston Villa: Tuesday 7th March 19:45 3640643743

I get the impression that Huddersfield are not playing like their usual selves. Is that because they just haven't shown up (maybe a hangover from their defeat at the week) or are we doing a good job in countering them?
