I think the guy on the left of the shot has got more chance of playing for Villa than Terry. Typical Sun story!

A CB who is comfortable on the ball would be an interesting signing. English football would be a bit of a shock for him though.

Our football would probably be a shock for him, more than anything.

With the current prices being demanded for Premier footballers, I can't see the point in being promoted to the PL. Top level football may well implode due to the financial insanity that is running amok. Sky has ensured that only mega rich clubs can both compete and survive. Ordinary clubs will be destroyed.

Championship free's seem to be our antidote to PL insanity!

Keep your money in your wallet Dr. Tony .... it's just not worth it.

With the John Terry rumours gaining pace, I've been wondering whether we can justify the huge expenditure on wages for a 36 year old?

It would certainly be a big statement of intent from Dr T, but would it improve us on the pitch, or could the same money be spent more effectively?

If we did sign JT, I believe that his main contribution would be in terms of attitude rather than footballing ability. He may well be the steely character that we've been lacking, because apart from Jedinak we don't have players that attract fear and respect in equal measures.

I'm unsure whether this sort of transfer is worth the huge financial gamble. What do you think?

The papers also say that Terry does not want to join a Premier team because he doesn't want to have to play against Chelsea.

Does that mean that he will only sign a one year contract in case we win the league, or does he not believe we'll get promoted?

Being a massive glory whore, the chance of winning the Championship will probably be a lot more compelling to Terry than battling relegation or bobbing around midtable with Stoke or whoever.

We're going to sign him, aren't we?

You're right, getting Villa back to the Premier League would firmly focus attention on JT. I was interested to read that if Bruce had become England manager last year he wanted to appoint John Terry as his defensive coach. Terry is keen on getting his coaching badges, so a move to Villa might tick all the right boxes .... Money, media attention and coaching badges.

We need to start selling some of the players who aren't going to figure next season. So far only Sanchez has been sold and we have to show some cash inflow to keep on the right side of FFP.

Pre season training will start shortly, and the morale could be damaged by a group of unwanted players at BMH.

Most media coverage of John Terry points to him signing for Villa on Saturday. Of course they are probably all feeding off the Mirror's article by James Nursey, but there have been no denials or counterclaims recently. It looks like your kit launch plus JT speculation could be right Sandie.

Will Terry sign? Will he be a good signing? Will he play enough games? Will he be the catalyst for promotion? Or will he be another expensive albatross to hang around the corporate Villa neck?

So many questions!

'Villa Transfers' has just tweeted that a medical is arranged for this afternoon. This guy has inside knowledge about medicals and has been consistently right.

It looks like Terry is happening!
