Are we having to sell Baker to pay Terry's and Whelan's wages due to the pressure of FFP? Did we expect to sell Amavi to cover those wages?

Whatever the reason this is an ill considered bit of business.

Do we think we're done in terms of incomings? I do.

I have a feeling we might see one more loan. We still need a left winger imo as Green doesn't have enough end product.

I expect us to sell or loan out several players before the transfer window closes.

It looks like that loan I was anticipating is about to happen. I guess he will be used as a left winger if he plays. He's a tall lad, with a bit of pace and decent technique. Not the most combative but useful on the ball.

Also looking like Ryan Kent is a possible signing. Two deals that are a bit more like it in terms of rectifying our attacking weaknesses.

I'm not sure about Kent, he's got two good feet and passes the ball accurately on the floor. How will he possibly fit in to a Villa midfield? 2017/2018 Transfer Speculation - Page 6 3640643743

Daily mail has linked us to Snodgrass, if he could stay fit he would be a great addition, also linked us to Jordan Rhodes. Personally I would go with what we've got upfront as we need to give Hogan a run and Gabby is looking sharpe. If injuries hit then we have to start giving youth a chance!

He's a tricky winger and probably as good as we could get at the moment. No pace but plenty of ball control, and seeing as he'll be thirty in less than a month he's the right age for a Brucie team. 2017/2018 Transfer Speculation - Page 6 3640643743

I'd like to see Snodgrass come in. I think we'll use the funds freed up by the Amavi departure to fund such an attacking reinforcement.

It seems like your wish is about to be granted Sandie.

Snodgrass is undoubtedly a very good attacking player, however, let's hope he can play effectively on the left or in a no.10 role, otherwise, if he is only effective on the right then we don't really gain too much as Adomah is very effective on the right. Having said that we just haven't had enough players over the last few years who can actually score and assist and if you look back at the best teams in the premier league or Europe or anywhere they've always got an abundance of players who can score and assist. Look back at MON team, when we purchased Downing and Milner in the same transfer window it seemed extravagant as we already had young. It's a good problem to have quality attackers even if their positions might overlap. Excited about this addition!!!!

With the news that McCormack is likely to stay we have a number of attacking options. The irony is that we have a manager who is unbelievably negative. Other managers would kill for the attacking options we have.

Having got that off my chest I have to say that this is the first transfer window that I've not been excited by. The man who's killed it for me is Steve Bruce.

I'd be happy to see MC44 reintegrated. Just needs to improve his fitness (and fix his gates).
