Bruce decided that we'd done enough and brought Jedinak on to shut up shop. Burton seized the opportunity to dominate possession, while we sat back with the Villa equivalent of "c'mon then .... let's see you break us down!"

When will we realise that we're the better team, and forget the bum clenching "sitting deep" tactic.

Blues up next. The last two games have seen a mixture of attempted stout defence and patches of delightful attacking play. I think we offered Burton a chance to get back at us late on Saturday and they nearly grasped the chance. I hope we talk about this negative aspect of our "default game" a lot this week.

Villa at our best will beat Blues at their best .... so let's go out and do what we do best.

I don't like derby matches, mainly because of fan hatred over the years. (My sister in law was knocked out and sustained head damage at the Blues ground some years back.)

I'm hoping that Steve Bruce's sad family news will bring a sense of decency to the match experience this time.

I have good friends who are Blues supporters and collectively all we hope for is a good match played in the proper spirit .... loud and feisty but kept within bounds by both sets of supporters. It will be good to see a sell out at Villa Park once again.

Villa have the better players so the three points should be ours if we play positively. 3-1 Villa!

One change from last week's team .... Jedinak in for Thor. Thor isn't injured and I think we may miss his mobility in front of the defence. Ah well, I just hope Jedi is up to pace.

Jedinak was the right choice. His height and strength broke things up around the box. Bruce was right and I was wrong lol!

It was a well deserved 2 goal win and our best players showed up at the same time.

Fulham up next at Craven Cottage. Will the new "real" Villa turn up. If we do it's going to be a cracking match.

I'll think about the result prediction over the next few days. This one could easily go either way.

Cracking performance on Sunday after what had been a tough week for Steve Bruce. Seven wins on the spin now, last time we did that I wasn't even born. Think Fulham will provide a very stern test, however, they're the only team whose form can rival ours and we have to play them on their own patch.

I don't normally say this, but a draw wouldn't be the worst result at Fulham.

Derby's unexpected loss against Sheffield Wednesday last night could be important if we can only take three points against Fulham on Saturday.

Think they are the best team we will have played in this run, the boy Sessegnon looks like some player.

Sessegnon is the real deal. Fulham's pace worries me. We don't usually play well against teams like Wolves and Fulham who both break quickly.
