I know all out-of-favour players get better with each game they don't play but I think Kozak can be aggrieved at his lack of action. He looked decent enough in pre-season.

I'd counter that by saying if the class was in defence we'd stop giving away two goals every game and be scoring enough to win games. We need lescott in for Clark and yes perhaps someone like Austin. I'd still go and get Adebayor

At the end of the day, he's come from the second division and needs to learn how to play in the Premiership. For that reason, he shouldn't be our main striker. He needs to learn without that kind of pressure on him.

F**king dreadful overall. Until we can defend and do basic things well, we will struggle. We simply had to win that and were atrocious second half. Tim has to take some of the blame for that too. Didn't change things or alter the tactics when needed etc!! Furious!!!

Confidence look shot after his error last week. Gave away a needless foul for the first goal and was poor after that. Really bad today all round. Manager included. Need more in before Tuesday.

Don't think we learned much we didn't know today. We need another striker who we can count on for goals and increasingly an experienced defender. I wasn't keen on either when they were first linked but as each game passes I increasingly see Adebayor and Lescott as better and better ideas.

At the end of the day, were it not for two incidences of poor defending against a poor team then we'd have ran out 2-0 winners today and our mood on here would be much brighter. Sunderland are a desperately poor team, though, so we should not start to think a revamped defence is the limit of our needs.

Starting to question how well Sherwood uses his subs too. Just one sub used when we were chasing a game.

Yep we need an experienced leading striker or we may struggle. Thoroughly miserable after that!!
