So we will (barring a completely unforeseen last-minute twist) have a new manager in charge in time for this one. Can a new coach bring some new luck and end our rotten run of one win in eleven this season? Will we go without shipping late goals?

We will be playing Wolves in this game. They've had a mixed start under Walter Zenga. They've had a couple of decent wins so far but have lost their last two. They will be looking to come back strong from the international break.

So what do we expect and who do we want to play?

I'm going for a loss because by the time the game is played the players will have had three managers in twelve days.

We could win if we get lucky, but in terms of organisation and tactics, Wolves should be comfortably ahead of us.

Whilst Steve Bruce will only have a couple of days working with the players before this game, I'm expecting us to have a bit of a new manager bounce. I think he likes to keep things simple (not a criticism, there's a lot to be said for simplicity) so that should hopefully mean it won't take the players too long to adapt.

The players will surely react better to the smile on SB's face rather than the pursed lipped aloofness that was a hallmark of RDM. If Bruce picks the right players then the smile might make all the difference, because we are very close to being a good team.

Indeed, Bruce has more warmth and humour about him but equally is much more demanding and inspiring from the touchline. Di Matteo was usually sat on his backside and even if he got up he wasn't the jumping, charging figure I've seen Steve Bruce be.

We haven't had a touchline organiser for years. Sherwood used to wave his arms about, but he hadn't got a clue what any of his gestures meant.

The match is live on SKY at 5:30pm tomorrow.

I want to be positive and say we will win, but something's stopping me. I'll have to think about it. Aston Villa V Wolves: Saturday 15th October 17:30 205019816

It's our form this season (and perhaps over the five seasons before) that's doing that. I still have faith but it's all stemming from there being a new, more manager in control. A manager who has a bit more substance to him and a better track record than his predecessors.

I think a chest thumping 3-0 win. Not sure of the formation (just watched Chelsea play 3-4-3 and that could suit) but nonetheless we will come out and keep it simple, have high intensity and lots of passion and effort, which should mean our quality will shine.

Full of optimism. Don't let me down Villa. COME ON!! Aston Villa V Wolves: Saturday 15th October 17:30 205019816 Aston Villa V Wolves: Saturday 15th October 17:30 1554986367

Typical .... Clark scores for Newcastle!

Westwood must not get onto the team sheet today. I have a feeling he will.

As I said on another thread, really don't get the Westwood 'hate' He has done more in the shirt than Gardner and has continuously had to play in front of a porcelain defence with different partners every match. Let's see what he can do with an organised and settled defence/team then judge him. That's my opinion anyway. For me has been better than Jedinak and a string of other midfielders over the last few seasons, yet all I read is HE is the sum of all our problems and any midfielder next to him doesn't stand a chance due to him being such a liability. Load of old b*ll*cks imo!! (not saying you've said this VB, just the general stuff I read) if only our problems were as simple as leaving Westwood out maybe 5 other managers may not of lost their jobs.......

Incidentally Bruce has had the dugouts changed back to pre Lambert era!! and people are moaning at that. A section of our fanbase do just love to moan. Really really f**ks me off. Get a grip and take a look at all the good things that may be in your life and be grateful and stop moaning over every tiny little thing and be blessed you don't have anything REAL to moan about. Rant over!!!

How shit we've been the past few years since changing the dugouts you'd think people would be pleased!

As for Westwood, I used to subscribe to your point of view but this season has knocked it out of me. Would not be surprised if he's in the side when it's announced in a couple of minutes time though.
