What will happen in the new manager's first game?
Aston Villa V Wolves: Saturday 15th October 17:30
We will be playing Wolves in this game. They've had a mixed start under Walter Zenga. They've had a couple of decent wins so far but have lost their last two. They will be looking to come back strong from the international break.
So what do we expect and who do we want to play?

We could win if we get lucky, but in terms of organisation and tactics, Wolves should be comfortably ahead of us.

We haven't had a touchline organiser for years. Sherwood used to wave his arms about, but he hadn't got a clue what any of his gestures meant.Sandie wrote:Indeed, Bruce has more warmth and humour about him but equally is much more demanding and inspiring from the touchline. Di Matteo was usually sat on his backside and even if he got up he wasn't the jumping, charging figure I've seen Steve Bruce be.

I want to be positive and say we will win, but something's stopping me. I'll have to think about it.

I'm just trying to sound positive, but I've not really convinced myself.

Westwood must not get onto the team sheet today. I have a feeling he will.

As I said on another thread, really don't get the Westwood 'hate' He has done more in the shirt than Gardner and has continuously had to play in front of a porcelain defence with different partners every match. Let's see what he can do with an organised and settled defence/team then judge him. That's my opinion anyway. For me has been better than Jedinak and a string of other midfielders over the last few seasons, yet all I read is HE is the sum of all our problems and any midfielder next to him doesn't stand a chance due to him being such a liability. Load of old b*ll*cks imo!! (not saying you've said this VB, just the general stuff I read) if only our problems were as simple as leaving Westwood out maybe 5 other managers may not of lost their jobs.......
Incidentally Bruce has had the dugouts changed back to pre Lambert era!! and people are moaning at that. A section of our fanbase do just love to moan. Really really f**ks me off. Get a grip and take a look at all the good things that may be in your life and be grateful and stop moaning over every tiny little thing and be blessed you don't have anything REAL to moan about. Rant over!!!

As for Westwood, I used to subscribe to your point of view but this season has knocked it out of me. Would not be surprised if he's in the side when it's announced in a couple of minutes time though.
