What will happen against the rabble from Small Heath?
That Lot V Aston Villa: Sunday 30th October 12:00
Their lofty position in the league table (7th) combined with our struggles has given the poor loves some belief that they're crawling out from under our shadow. They're a well organised and well managed side will give us a bloody good game but we're starting on an upturn so should almost certainly not be discounted. We also have better players with which comes the risk of complacency but I don't think SB will let that happen.
So can Bruce continue his unbeaten start by getting us a win at his former club?

That said, three consecutive wins is pretty much unprecedented in the recent history of Aston Villa.

A defeat here will no doubt feel like the end of the world, but will be nothing of the sort. Merely yet another bloodied nose.

I'm going for a draw against a well organised side.

Blues have always been able to get "up" for these games in the past and we have always lacked a bit of the street wise football these games and atmosphere generates, having said that Amavi, Hutton, Bacuna, Rudi, Jack, Westwood have all experienced a Villa Blues Derby at home, at the sty it will be more hostile, something that Bruceys appointment will add that little bit extra spice to. this may benefit us as alot of their hostility will be focused on him. He will also be able to work on our boys with his inside knowledge, I think we will edge it, just with a new hero and legend just waiting to be made.

Tom Ross is a blue nose who loves all midland football. I've met the guy a few times and he's a good guy. This article about the derby gives me a buzz, because it says all that needs to be said about the special occasion that is a Villa vs Blues derby. If the fans rock up up in good spirits and there's no real aggro, it could be a great day!

I was told - so not sure just how trustworthy it is - that if you make someone redundant (as we did with Jack) you cannot replace their position until 12 months have passed. Hence no new AVTV frontman.

I thought it was six months, but yes, it would account for the lack of a frontman.Sandie wrote:villabromsgrove wrote:Talking about Tom makes me realise that I miss another character .... Jack Woodward. We haven't replaced him, and AVTV is a shadow now of even its former wretched self.

I know that sorting out the playing side and gaining promotion are the top priority, but presenting AVFC in a much more professional manner has to be high on the "to do list".Sandie wrote:I think as frustrating as the AVTV situation is for us, it will be frustrating Wyness and the Doc even more!
