Well you get your wish boys, no Westwood. looks like a 4-4-1-1 to me or a straight 4-4-2

Glad to see Kodjia and McCormack being played correctly. An example of Bruce keeping it simple and playing the division's best goalscorers (historically) in the position they scored all the goals in.

Worry about Jedinak in a CM 2. Hope he finds his legs again.........

Not far from the team I'd pick apart from Grealish instead of Ayew (which is a matter of opinion) and Cissokho over Amavi (understandable as we're playing a back four).

Some talk of Ayew having a slight knock on International duty, so maybe come on late on? I fully expect Bruce to be keen on Grealish and to get the best out of him....

No place for Gardener in the squad at all

If this team plays for 90 minutes with passion we'll win.

Ayew did pick up a knock, but he'll cause Wolves a problem if he comes on for 15/20 minutes.

We're now in the bottom 3 following results earlier today. Win is looking more than a bit necessary.

Slow start but we're a goal ahead thanks to a penalty. GET IN!

I stand by my pre match point. Westwood should be playing. I think Jedinak has been woeful in every game he's played for us. Terrible terrible. can't run, misplaces passes, can't tackle and lacking any form of leadership qualities. Looks like a player who doesn't want to be here and grieving Palace still. Westwood for him please and then Ayew for Adomah if still 1-1 at 65 mins.

Scrappy first half, not helped by a poor ref. Oh and don't get me started on Cissikho.........

This Villa team is reverting to default. It seems no matter what they're instructed to do, they do their own panicky thing.

I think we saw the problem tonight. Too many players want to have the ball given to them, not enough players want to win the ball. We have too few athletes and a lot of unfit posers living on their reputations.

A big job indeed.

So so disappointed at that. We have a lot of work ahead of us.

Woefully unfit and out of form. Short of any real quality in the middle of the park and get overrun, but if you don't keep hold of the ball you have to chase and if you're already not fit enough and with the correct conditioning then this will just get highlighted further, like Wolves did second half.

Worst half of football I've seen in a while and there has been some bad ones. Deserved to lose by three or four.

To do list for Bruce.

1. Get his assistant, a GK coach and a very important one a top class fitness coach in or get or current one doing different things (although difficult now we're into the season)
2. Get the players FIT (look at Wolves fitness compared to ours) the basics happen easier when properly fit and conditioned. Just what have we been doing in training?!
3. play with THREE central midfielders, the ones we have aren't good enough in a two.
4. Somehow get this group of players united as a team, with a pack mentality
5. Get a sports psychologist in to eradicate the fear that hovers over the club, from the players, through to the backroom staff, the kit man, everyone needs it.

There's loads more and I'm to disappointed/angry to be succinct, but you get the gist.

What a mess, forget promotion. This is a consolidation season and nothing else for me. Rip it all apart and start again from the ground up (which I believe is kind of happening off the pitch) Sadly we're not as good as Wyness thinks we are. No 'tweaking' to be done in January, 4 or 5 more needed in Jan, real midfield quality and dare I say another CB and more fullbacks.

RDM spent an awful lot of money very poorly in the summer, didn't he?
