Ive not really seen Ross McCormack play much but just looking at his stats and at you tube clips and he strikes me as exactly the type of player we need. SCORES AND ASSISTS and Ayew could link up very nicely together. If were going to get out this league then lets go with the tried and tested proven striker at this level. Would be excited if we make a move for him, his odds have come down tonight for a move to the Villa.

Who would supply and assist McCormack? The same people who currently supply and assist Gestede? A new striker will get no service at Villa.

McCormack's all round game is better than Gestede's. He is more able on the ground and chips in with assists too making him more suited to RDM's plan (if there is such a thing). Still, I see your point.

I suppose that the guys we are losing are not exactly indispensable. It's just a shame we've not managed to farm out many of the players we are desperate to get rid of.

I think McCormack would prove to be a very good signing.

Great news, this is the type of signing shows ambition. In recent years we have gone recruited with potential in mind rather than the finished product. There is no doubt that MC is the finished product in the Championship. This bodes well of for me as it shows the ambition of Dr Tony to get back up at the first time of asking and is the first proper action that backs up the words, more needed but this will be a cracking signing imo.

please Villa Mccormack is a huge risk which we cannot afford to take. 30 yrs old with glass legs ( pires anyone?). There is a reason he is still available and we should stay way clear!

I feel the same about the price and his age, but Villa are over a barrel at the moment and we're going to have to pay top dollar in the hope that he continues to score at his impressive Championship rate, at least for one more season. I hope this doesn't mean the end for Gestede though, because if we play with wingers instead of wing backs he will score regularly.

My worry is that RDM has never liked to play with more than one man up front.

Glad to see Clark on his way out but whatever money we get for him will be used to remove his murals, posters and images painted over 50% of Villa park and the academy. Take one walk round inside VP and you would think he was our only player! Its bloody rediculous!! Lets hope he can spread his loosing mentality wherever he goes.
