Re: Transfer speculation 2016/17
I wonder whether David Moyes will pursue Big Sam's interest in Micah Richards?
Moyes has found his 'bigger club' and if they are patient with him he could do well for them long term as this article says.
If he keeps them in the Premier league that would be a result.

He needs to stay at Villa. He's got so much potential, but he's also got a lot to learn. He and Traore could make life frightening for Championship left backs if they share the 90 minutes.Sandie wrote:Andre Green being linked with Tottenham. Would be disappointed to see him go.

I seem to be moaning a lot lately, but let's start acting like a big club shall we Villa.

tbf wyness has only tweeted 4-5 times max about villa, tbf i dont think having a owner on twitter will have any impact on signing players

Two years sat behind Victor Valdes then. Just picking up the money, doing the bare minimum, presumably.
Exactly the kind of player we don't need. So good riddance.

I think the only issue with them tweeting is if it ends up projecting a less than professional image. Examples of that would be the tweets from Xia yesterday (which seem to be digging out a rival club for beating us to a player) or the unfortunate incident where Xia got trolled. If the club aren't careful it could end up looking like a circus and players put off from signing. It's not being on Twitter that's the issue, more what's being said there.
Agree that Wyness isn't really a factor in this. With the exception of the tweets about Gana (where it seems he's leaving anyway) he hasn't really said much.

There's been a lot of revisionism about Guzan on both sides, for me. He was a great keeper for us at one point but had badly lost his form by the tail end of the 2014/15 season. Of course, the Birmingham Mail's piece on his exit goes too far in the other direction: http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/comment-aston-villa-spell-ends-11679563
Guzan was guilty of some severe lapses in professionalism last season so his time with us should not be romanticised. I've seen a lot of people celebrating his exit. Why? He's not exactly in the same league of waster as Agbonlahor or Lescott. I'll celebrate those guys leaving but have a bad feeling I won't be uncorking the champagne.

Pantelimon would be decent back up to Gollini. His wages will not be cheap though.

Re: Transfer speculation 2016/17
This is a difficult one for me, because I watched him grow up as a Villa player and followed his progress at numerous reserve matches. I really thought that he would become team captain and an iconic player. Sadly his regular concentration lapses led to some costly errors last season. Clark is a leader, and at his best is a real asset, however I'm beginning to wonder whether he can get through 90 minutes without making a fatal mistake.
It will be a decent move for him if he gets it.
