Morrison was an exciting player at one time. Right now, he's only a big gamble.

I wonder whether David Moyes will pursue Big Sam's interest in Micah Richards?

Moyes has found his 'bigger club' and if they are patient with him he could do well for them long term as this article says.

If he keeps them in the Premier league that would be a result.

Andre Green being linked with Tottenham. Would be disappointed to see him go.

He needs to stay at Villa. He's got so much potential, but he's also got a lot to learn. He and Traore could make life frightening for Championship left backs if they share the 90 minutes.

Just a thought about transfers. As far as I know RDM isn't used to actually signing players himself, and he's only got Wyness and Dr T to help him out. It can't be easy to deal professionally with other clubs when your main men are using twitter to communicate.

I seem to be moaning a lot lately, but let's start acting like a big club shall we Villa.

What about that Stone chap, the scout/statistician guy, who's came in? There's also a Technical Director to come in imminently. They'll help but, yes, RDM will have to take the lead.

tbf wyness has only tweeted 4-5 times max about villa, tbf i dont think having a owner on twitter will have any impact on signing players confused

So Guzan has gone to the Smoggies on a free transfer.

Two years sat behind Victor Valdes then. Just picking up the money, doing the bare minimum, presumably.

Exactly the kind of player we don't need. So good riddance.

I think the only issue with them tweeting is if it ends up projecting a less than professional image. Examples of that would be the tweets from Xia yesterday (which seem to be digging out a rival club for beating us to a player) or the unfortunate incident where Xia got trolled. If the club aren't careful it could end up looking like a circus and players put off from signing. It's not being on Twitter that's the issue, more what's being said there.

Agree that Wyness isn't really a factor in this. With the exception of the tweets about Gana (where it seems he's leaving anyway) he hasn't really said much.

There's been a lot of revisionism about Guzan on both sides, for me. He was a great keeper for us at one point but had badly lost his form by the tail end of the 2014/15 season. Of course, the Birmingham Mail's piece on his exit goes too far in the other direction: http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/comment-aston-villa-spell-ends-11679563

Guzan was guilty of some severe lapses in professionalism last season so his time with us should not be romanticised. I've seen a lot of people celebrating his exit. Why? He's not exactly in the same league of waster as Agbonlahor or Lescott. I'll celebrate those guys leaving but have a bad feeling I won't be uncorking the champagne.

Pantelimon would be decent back up to Gollini. His wages will not be cheap though.

This is a difficult one for me, because I watched him grow up as a Villa player and followed his progress at numerous reserve matches. I really thought that he would become team captain and an iconic player. Sadly his regular concentration lapses led to some costly errors last season. Clark is a leader, and at his best is a real asset, however I'm beginning to wonder whether he can get through 90 minutes without making a fatal mistake.

It will be a decent move for him if he gets it.

I rate Clark but I have started to think centre back might not really be his best position due to his propensity for an error. I think I would pick Baker, Elphick and Okore ahead of him there. I think he's one of those guys who might benefit from a change of scene.

This could be just the bit of luck we needed, get rid of a real weak link and whilst weakening a potential promotion rival, now all we need is to get rid of hutton to Norwich and Westward to Derby!!
