If I was giving the Fulham team talk, I would be telling my attackers to target the space behind Villa's backs. I think Bruce is filling the midfield a bit more to deny the opposition the space between our lines, but unless we learn to cover our disappearing wing backs there's going to be too much dangerous space left yet again.

We're not getting the right service to our front men by the sound of it. We seem quite comfortable though. Fulham have had more possession but it's mostly tippy tappy stuff in their own half, they will need to go up a gear if they want to win this one. That could help us.

I'm lucky that my local station covers us on DAB and fm most games. The strange thing about listening without pictures is that I tend to create an image which probably doesn't represent what's actually happening.

The commentators are saying that if Fulham win this it would have to be a smash and grab! That makes a mockery of the stats.

Little possession but most of the chances it seems. The picture being conjured in my mind is of Route One football but with our players that's probably the best option.

It seems clear that for the moment we're going to give up "tippy tappy" possession in exchange for more meaningful possession. This will hopefully make us more focussed on the counter, if we continue to get a dozen shots at goal out of having the ball only one third of the time, it could work well in this transitional stage. When we've dominated possession previously our shape goes and players lose their discipline.

I think Bruce has decided to build the discipline and off the ball abilities of the team first. We have been sorely lacking on those for a long time.
