I thought I'd open this thread straight away so that we can try to forget last night's capitulation. It's another away match and that should start knees knocking because of our cowardly approach to playing away from Villa Park. "Cowardly" may seem a harsh word, but I think it's justified given the negative tactics we employ when we play away. Sitting deep and hoofing the ball over the midfield to a lone and quickly disillusioned striker is pathetic and unworthy of the players we now have. We have to play with a higher back line and play crisp passes through the midfield with loads of supportive movement, and we need to do that for 90 minutes. I don't want to see a single opposition player receive the ball without a Villa player directly in his face. High tempo football takes super fit and willing players, and that comes from the training pitch. Starting today training has to stop being fun and it has to start to hurt.

I'm not confident that Bruce (should I say Calderwood?) can turn things around in four days. Forest are a poor team without a manager, so why do I think they may be up for it more than us? I can't make a sensible match prediction at the moment, so I'll put the poll up and cogitate long and hard before deciding and adding my vote.

Great post VB hit the nail on the head. I've opted to vote for a loss simply because for six years I've had a misplaced confidence in Villa. I now have no expectations, expect nothing and we can't be disappointed.

Forest are badly out of form so we might get a draw. Twisted Evil

We can't be as bad as we were against Brentford .... Can we? Player for player we should win, but that hasn't worked for us so far. If we press 100% which means playing a higher line we'll win or draw. If we take our usual one away day tactic with us, we'll probably lose.

Because it's Forest I'm going to predict a win, but I'm not confident.

Tish and McCormack won't be available for them due to the terms of the loans.

Speaking of the latter of those two, McCormack hasn't closed the gate on a return: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38846212

I can't see how we can lose this on paper, but as soon as we get out on someone else's pitch we find a way. C'mon Villa let's get stuck in and get a desperately needed three points!

I really do think a smart money is on a goalless draw here.

like the positivity VB, Sandy I can't see a goalless draw in this one, purely on the basis that we can't keep clean sheets.

Is it three at the back or four at the back with Baker left back?

Good goal. Grealish with a nice ball to Kodjia and a well taken first time finish.

Dreadful from Johnstone. I think he's a step backwards from Gollini.
