Same tactic, sit back hit the long ball let the opposition play and wait for your young inexperienced keeper to make a hash of it and give them a goal .... 1-1. Rubbish!

Johnstone looks to be a poor bit of business in a critical area so far. At least Gollini was our player to develope.

Bruce is obviously happy to let a rubbish team dominate us. How the hell he can think sitting back and playing hoof ball is a tactic I'll never know. You can see it's his instructions because our midfield are sitting at least five metres off Forest players and dropping rather than closing. We are inviting opportunities for errors from our extremely error prone keeper and defence.

BRAIN DEAD!

We told Bruce that before he signed him .... frustrating isn't it!

Bruce has got no excuses any more. Previously he didn't have his own players to play with. Now he has and the end result is even more inept and listless.

Positives:
Superb finish by Kodjia.

Negatives:
when our midfielders and defenders have the ball there needs to be far more composure and more energy. It looks like the players aren't prepared to keep the ball as that involves running around a bit. I've lost count of the number of times we've given the ball away when not even under pressure. were sitting too deep and we need to press higher up the pitch and all players need to close down with conviction, Grealish note!
Young keeper suprise, suprise individual errors!!!

We Can turn this around, common lads lets put this right...

I wanted us to bring in an experienced keeper (even if it was a short term thing) with Gollini dropped down to number two for a bit of time to develop out of the firing line. Instead we source another green keeper who's not even ours for a six month loan and bin off the probably slightly better one we had. Gollini had become a bit more steady in latter months and was making fewer errors and some decent saves. An absolutely dreadful call. If we decided to drop Johnstone (who has either made errors or looked weak in each of his league games so far) we're left with Bunn. Another poor keeper.

A mate made the point that we started very well under Bruce but our momentum seemed to drain away with the calls to bring Gabby back and drop Gollini. We could possibly also include bringing in Calderwood as a coach to a cause for that loss of progress but it does seem that those have been three decisions from the manager that could have set us back.

But, assuming our fortunes don't turn around in this one, he'll give another angry interview post-match, insist they're not playing his way even though they're his players so that's ok.

Grealish red card and he deserved it. Two soft in the head yellow cards for a soft in the head player .... he doesn't have the balls or the shin pads to make proper tackles, and half a game is not good enough at this level. Grealish will never be more than a useless luxury item that you take with you on an uninhabited desert island .... like an electric hair dryer!

We cannot keep conceding possession to poor teams as a deliberate ploy when we play away. Not pressing once in 90 minutes is a suicidal way to play in the Championship.

Our manager and coaching staff need to be hauled into Wyness's office and read the riot act. We clearly have better players than the teams that are beating us, but our pathetic outdated "system" is suffocating our players.

You take Man United's dodgy keeper out of this and you have a different game. We got unlucky, but then this cannot keep happening.

Villa 29% possession
