I'm not saying he's close to Bestie's class yet, but he's got similar technical attributes, and also perhaps a little bit of the Georgie boy arrogance and charm in his personality. Could he also have a self destruct button hidden away in his make up? How will he handle success and adulation if he achieves it?
After the Small Heath game I said that to a Chelsea fan at work who guffawed. The way he looks for the ball and takes people on, he has that gossamer, whispy change of direction that Best had.
I was glad to see Sherwoods comments regarding the defensive side of his game, but you can level that criticism at the whole team. I am oft commenting on here the static nature of our team both when we have posession and when we don't.
There is a difficulty with having such flare players in midfield and it is the defensive protection they are required to provide that is always lacking and what we need.
We can certainly get behind Liverpools defence today, and I am sure we will score, I also believe that they will as well. Draw it is 1-1.

I love the "gossamer, whispy" description SLV it sums up the way he moves with the ball excellently.South London Villan wrote:villabromsgrove wrote:I see a comparison with George Best forming. Oh and we make a mistake in not closing down despite 3 DM's and 1-0 down as I post.
Bollocks.

What I don't get is that how a team that plays three defensive midfielders can defend so poorly and concede so many poor goals. It should be at the other end of the pitch we have problems.
