It's a shame for Tshibola, but having seen him playing horrendously in a streamed reserve match recently, he's not ready for the first team and he needs to play regularly to get his confidence back.Sandie wrote:Tshibola on the way out: http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-transfer-news-aaron-12351135 ?

One does have to scratch their head about it, however, as he performed well enough in a few games under RDM.

I wonder whether losing his mentor Steve Clarke had a negative effect on him mentally?Sandie wrote:I think a lot of people will be scratching their heads if he leaves since we have come to use Westwood regularly in front of him and Tish started well. However, I agree with you that if that reserves performance was a true indication of his level it might be the right move.

Add to that Tshibola's injury problems, and it's apparent that he was a bad choice for such an important season.

I remember a few years back that Smithies was seen as someone with strong potential to be a top class keeper. His career seems to have stalled somewhat in the last couple of years (perhaps why he is at QPR rather than a top club) but he does have experience of playing nearly 300 times in lower league English football.

He's okay but nothing special imo.Sandie wrote:http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-make-4m-move-9512572

Are they preparing for an immediate return to the Championship? That would be the third member of last season's Villa squad on their books. Wonder if they fancy Westwood and Flabby too?

The Mail and it's parent paper the Mirror are going with the same story. We might as well sell Gestede, because we are obviously not going to play in a way that will use his specific talent. It's the same as we've said previously about McCormack .... we've bought strikers without once thinking about how we would play them.
I hope Bruce/Round only buy players that will fit our intended style of play.

I'd genuinely play RHM before Gabby. He might have a lot to learn, but he's a natural goalscorer.Sandie wrote:Unfortunately, Gabby is about as quick as the other two now.
