I've just told one of my sons about this and he's punching the air, dancing around whooping his head off, and shouting stuff like "GOOD NEWS DAY!!!!!!". Who would have thought that Westwood could bring so much happiness to a Villa fan!

This is superb news. Please let it go through without a hitch ...... Yeeeessss!

It's up there with Christmas day!

Just to bring the mood back down a bit there's speculation that it may be a loan deal with an option to buy. That's not as exciting, but the reality as far as I see it is if he goes then he's no longer part of Bruce's plans. It's like the grey clouds have parted and the sun is shining in all it's glory. I can't stop smiling!

Hogan excites me more than Rhodes does. I like his physicality, pace and his desire to get behind defences.

As for Westwood, I can't wait to see him running out in the claret and blue .... of Burnley! Transfer speculation 2016/17 - Page 44 3640643743

Players who are prepared to run behind defences seem to be few and far between:thumbs up:

He's followed the "Vardy route" through the lower divisions. In fact he was at Halifax (as a youngster) and couldn't get in the team because of Vardy.

He's had a couple of bad knee injuries and missed a lot of football, but he's come back all guns blazing. He's just under 6ft, well built, likes a bit of the physical and he's quick (even after two ACL's). He works hard for the team which is another plus.

He want's Premier football, but unless West Ham up their bid, or Crystal Palace decide to spend big on inexperience, we could be in with a chance.

Westwood's departure eve doesn't have the same ring to it, sadly.

I guess Hogan is the player eluded to earlier when Bruce brought up that there was a player on our radar that the press hadn't really picked up on.

West Brom linked with Hogan. Can we persuade him that we're the better long term option?

If this turns out to be true then it's a real show of intent by Villa. Hogan has a predators instinct for getting into the right position. I know it's only YouTube but there are several videos which demonstrate how quick he is to nip behind CB's and get the simple tap ins.

Fingers crossed that we get this deal done.

With our new midfield providing quality ball and Kodjia linking with Hogan, we could just click. Transfer speculation 2016/17 - Page 44 205019816
