Straight back into action in midweek, then. We face Brentford who sit in 8th place and beat a fancied Brighton side on Saturday. They've picked up three wins (against Brighton, Forest and Ipswich), a draw (against Sheffield Wednesday and two defeats (Rotherham and Huddersfield). They may be a little team but they've already beat some fancied teams this season and have finished in the top half of the league both seasons since they were promoted to the Championship in 2014. We simply cannot under-estimate them.

What do we expect; win, lose or draw?

Ian Holloway has predicted a 2-1 win for Brentford, so I'll turn that around and go 2-1 Villa.

Let's get it right for 90 minutes this time please RDM.

Are we at the point of "must-win" games yet?

I think - and hope - this one will be a win for us. I'll say 2-0.

Brentford are a better "team" than Villa .... we have better individual players. It will be tough tomorrow but we have to get three points..

1 win in 6 league matches (best not to mention the cup loss as well Embarassed ). It must not become 1 win in 7!

We're Aston Villa we should not be having a start like that in the second division.

I think we'll win tomorrow night .... however .... a failure to win will leave Roberto three games away from staring down the barrel of a very twitchy managerial shotgun. I don't think I'm being overly dramatic when I say that if we reach ten games without picking up another win then RDM will become persona non grata. I don't think it will happen, but the matches against Ipswich, Newcastle and Barnsley are not going to be easy.

Must win tomorrow, its so important physiologically to win this game it cant be understated. The way I see it is the NF game was the first proper game for Villa with the squad finalised. We played terrifically well in the main, but were undone by managerial deficiency late on and a key position deficiency with the weaknesses of westward and our goalkeepers being exposed. However if we can follow up on the weekends performance with another good performance and a win then it changes the whole mindset. The squad can then start to believe. Lets face it we have one of the top two squads in the league yes we have a few weaknesses but on the whole as long as RDM finds the right balance we should have way too much for 90% of the teams in this league. tomorrow is the start but we don't have too many more games that we can go without a win, otherwise this squad will start to lose belief just as quickly as last years and we saw what happened there. RDM over to you to get us a win tomorrow!!!

Are we going to finally see Jedinak and Tshibola together in this game? I really hope so...

Suggestions floating around that McCormack won't be playing tonight. Would be an odd call unless he's injured or otherwise in need of a rest.

McCormack has to play, he's just getting into a groove and to stop him now would be damaging. I would leave Grealish on the bench and give him a cameo role today.

We've got tremendous competition for the forward positions but McCormack would be the one I wouldn't drop. Let's hope the rumour is bollocks.
