A mistake kiled us again!

How many of us would have played Elphick today like Bruce did?

Is the manager getting his tactics and style of play right?

Playing Elphick meant leaving out Adomah at home against a very negative Ipswich team.

We also played our two more defensive options at wing backs too. Let's be honest, it was a back five. Against a poor team who play very defensively.

I hate to say it as another change of manager isn't what we need but Bruce is looking like a man who has ran out of ideas.

Three centre halves and it's the Basics we're fluffing.

As we said last week we're a team that makes defensive errors, and they're often fatal .... so don't sit deep as a tactic. Simples!

Don't drop a match winner like Adomah in favour of a match loser like Elphick. Simples!

Allow your midfield to be close enough to support the strikers when they shoot. Many shots are blocked or rebound and run loose for a metre or two and it's the follow up that often puts the ball in the net. If you have 22 shots you are wasting chances by insisting on a deep midfield. Simples!

The better players should beat the lesser players 8 or 9 times out of 10. Recognise that fact and be positive instead of negative. Simples!

Bruce is costing us games with our inexplicable set up.

Sky pundits were saying yesterday that they don't understand why our strikers are so isolated. So it's glaringly obvious!

Good points, if I was in charge I'd play 4-4-2 until such time that Jedinak was back then switch to a 4-3-3. My fullbacks would be Bree and Amavi too. Absolutely no back threes or back fives.

Amavi wasn't even brought on when Taylor was subbed, Bruce put on Green at left back instead. Another daft and potentially morale damaging decision.

It does seem that certain players have been marginalised. Look at Gollini, Gestede, Ayew and now, it seems, Amavi.

If you look at the likes of Veretout, Gil, Sanchez, Ayew, Traore, Okore and now Amavi there is a pattern emerging. Villa managers cannot seem to use talented players properly. Our system has been riddled with fear for seasons, and we seem to dumb down our tactics so that it is suited to workmen rather than craftsmen.
