Re: Rémi Garde: Ex-Aston Villa manager
Amavi is out for the season with a ruptured ACL, and Cissokho isn't registered in our 25 eligible players. Remi has to look within the squad for a replacement, at least until January. That's a minimum of 8 games, if you include Sunderland on Jan 2nd.GadgetMan wrote:Any news on Amavi and do we know if we could get Cissokho back from Porto (They're not playing him) as him and Garde have worked together, so maybe a path he goes down. Poor Jordan.

This guy is a coach that I really like. He's well thought of and knows the Premier really well. He's also a coach with a defensive playing background. I hope this comes off.

This does seem to indicate that Moyes may well have been approached before Remi Garde, otherwise it would be strange for Fox/Almstadt to have approached Steve Round. If Garde spoke to him out of "politeness" then it also shows that he's clearly focussed on doing things his way, without our administrators imposing people on him.

The comments of him being approached before are certainly interesting. Might speak to Moyes being approached or maybe if it was in the summer carboard cutout Wilkins not being Sherwood's first choice for a coach?

Re: Rémi Garde: Ex-Aston Villa manager
Could this have been down to Paddy Reilly trying to increase his influence and importance as director of recruiting?

Re: Rémi Garde: Ex-Aston Villa manager
He said: "We all know the task is very difficult.
"I still think we have qualities in this team - and in the next game we have to show this.
"There are a lot of games to play. We will fight for every point - and we will continue that against Watford this next weekend.
"We have to carry on working hard. I said that to the players because nothing is finished, nothing is done.
"But this result against Everton showed the way - and the work in front of us. We have to do it.
"The spirit in the second half was there, it was very good. We tried and tried - it was encouraging.
"In the first half, it wasn't a question of spirit - maybe we were too light, we didn't win enough duels.
"The key for us is to work hard all together."
