Good to hear from you SLV ..... Thanks for having a quiet word with Jedinak about joining Villa. I bet he only lived around the corner from you. How is the Croydon area these days?South London Villan wrote:Hello chaps I have been away for a while due to a number of commitments, anything interesting happened in the last few months?
It's been an interesting summer, and if we can only sort out who's going to supply and assist we could do well. We have leaders on the pitch now, which has been missing since the days of Laursen, Mellberg and Barry.
If this team can gel and play for each other, it could be entertaining stuff this season.

Concerns still arise around strength and depth of the squad in what will be a long and arduous season, with deadline day looming the wheeling and dealing is probably frantic, I am in no doubt we will see more additions I just hope they are the right ones.
Personally I would like to see another striker & right back. We appear to have brought some steel and resilience and with the exception of McCormack there is still a lack of creativity.
Here's hoping, positive about the season but I still think achieving automatic promotion may be a step too far as it stands at the moment, I stand to be corrected.

You can thank my kids and my dog's incessant barking in him wanting to move from the neighbours from hell

The weapon of choice for moving Mile in our direction was noise? Clever stuff .... I knew you'd do your best for us!

Shame. I liked Jores. He was great for us when he came in towards the end of 14/15 but after his injury he didn't seem to be at the races. I am somewhat concerned that it means that we're now looking at Richards (who might leave before end of the window) as 4th choice centre half. I have faith in our top three picks but only think of Richards as being capable at right back.

Adomah looked dangerous against us in our pre season friendly, I was impressed with him. He is one of those right wingers who "does exactly what it says on the tin". He gets up the right wing and delivers some good balls into the box. He's got useful pace as well.

Sounds good. I think we need that type of player on board. We went 4-4-2 yesterday and our only wide right option was Bacuna.
