Lansbury missed a penalty in the match tonight, but delivered a great corner kick for the winning goal. I know Newcastle were down to 9 men but Lansbury controlled the midfield with some excellent passing and marshalling of his troops. You can tell I'm a fan! If we sign Lansbury I'll be over the moon. Very Happy

2-1 Forest as Newcastle lose in the League for the second time in a week.

Lands bury is a very impressive player and one that seems to be improving game by game. Also great to see Newcastle losing maybe we can still dream of automatic promotion!!

Surely he's on Bruce and Rounds shopping list.

If we win tomorrow we'll be six points nearer to Newcastle than we were a week ago.

Newcastle really hit the self-destruct button in that game. Forest were far from convincing even with a two man advantage but Newcastle were so efficacious in beating themselves they didn't need to be.

A week ago they looked rock solid favourites, now they are looking more wobbly.

I think that the League Cup quarter final against Hull played a part in both defeats. It's good news for chasing teams though.

They lost that game too, I think? Three defeats, whatever the reasons, will knock a side's confidence.

The Hull game was a gruelling 120 minutes long before losing on penalties. That damages fitness and mentality. Let's hope we can take advantage of their slip up by beating Leeds today.

Hopefully this is a lazy link. He's too old and too small. He was a decent keeper in his prime, but at 2 inches shorter than Gollini (who's also too small imo), he would need the speed and athleticism of his youth, and that's gone.

Yes, I don't think McGregor would make sense as anything more than a better #2 than Bunn. He is quite injury prone these days too so far as I'm aware. The links are lazy and obvious ones. Bruce says he fancies another keeper and so ones he has previously managed are getting reported as targets.

We need a big dominant keeper like Lovre Kalinic .... the guy we couldn't get a work permit for about a year back.

That's an interesting shout, he's still in Croatia. We went through something similar with Guzan where a transfer was blocked due to work permit issues and we re-visited it a year or two later and got him that time. There were also, if you recall, some issues with the appeal we went through (a board member of a relegation rival on the panel) too.

Of course, there has been a substantial turnover in staff since then with a different manager and largely renewed recruitment team in place so that might mean Kallinic isn't on the radar anymore.

All the keepers we've been linked with so far are uninspiring to say the least.

"One in the bag and another to come"

The reference to us needing a centre half is leading me to suspect we will almost certainly be signing Bruce Jnr.

"Bruce says "I will only bring in people now who will improve the squad dramatically", surely that rules out his son Alex! Transfer speculation 2016/17 - Page 31 3640643743
