His career hasn't half taken a nosedive since leaving us. Not good enough for Liverpool then not good enough for West Ham. He goes back to Boro and it's seen as a big coup for a club then in the Championship and now he's not good enough for them.

In non trolling news, Few reports last night suggesting that the signing of Lansbury is edging closer.

I hope this happens soon. It will kick start our midfield rebuild.

Our bid has been rejected apparently, but all accounts are that the player is very keen on the move.

Rejected bid was something supposedly from Sky Sports Sources that went round.

I would be surprised if Forest can afford to turn down a sensible offer for Lansbury, because he can leave on a free in a few months time.
He will leave this month, so let's hope he joins Villa.

It's brinkmanship. The player wants out, we want the player and Forest want some money. It will be a case of who blinks first in terms of us upping the offer or Forest accepting the previous one. I'm piss poor at haggling so would just offer Forest more money. We really need someone like Lansbury.

We need to do this deal asap. If he signs in the next few days, other players might decide to come and join him. At present you wouldn't want to join our current CM's.

The takeover is certainly not good timing.

Few sources (including the Sun) saying we've tied up a deal for Conor Hourihane.

That would be good news if it happens, but other so called "sources" are still saying that we're preparing to match Sheffield Wed's one million bid. He's the kind of player that we need, a down to earth, hard working player who knows that the aim of the game is to put the ball in the net or assist someone else to do it. He's worth far more than one million.

My understanding of the rules on agents leads me to think they'll get round the Blackstock deal by claiming it was negotiated by his actual agent. It's more than a bit dodgy.

Jedinak Hourihane and Lansbury would be one hell of a midfield three and there would obviously be Tshibola and Gardner in reserve. Considering the inflated fees we have been paying for players rebuilding our midfield for what would be (based on speculated fees) a smidgen over £5million is a huge bargain.
